Significant Summer Events
As I write, summer is ending, and many key events have happened at Helion Lodge.
On Saturday, June 28th, Helion held its annual Installation Ceremony. PM, Michael Feld conducted the installation with PM John Clay and PM Jarod Cassidy assisting as the Marshall and Chaplin accordingly. After the ceremony, everyone retired downstairs for fellowship and a refreshing meal from Logan’s Roadhouse served by the Rocket City DeMolay.
The brothers have been busy with work. Since the installation there has been two (2) Entered Apprentice degrees and three (3) Fellowcraft degrees on four different nights. Other work included the District 2, Group 2 conference held at Helion on Saturday, August 9, 2025. The Helion team received compliments on the quality of our work and was awarded the attendance trophy.
The next day, August 10, 2025, the Rocket City DeMolay held their Annual Installation Ceremony which was attended by the Most Worshipful Grand Master Schultz, Right Worshipful Junior Grand Warden Michael Woods, and Deputy Grand Tiler William Winner of the Grand Lodge of Alabama. I and a few other Helion members also attended to support the young men of the DeMolay (photo below).
There will be more coming up soon: 50-year pins, a Mark Master Degree presented by Monte Santo No. 64, York Rite College (on the 21st), hopefully a fifth Saturday event, and soon at least a couple of Master Mason degrees. To keep all this activity going, I and the Helion Officers need the support and assistance of fellow brothers. “Many hands make light work…” and we have much work to do. Your attendance, participation, ideas, and talents are needed to ensure a healthy and well-running lodge.
