Ending and Beginning Strong
As Spring turns the corner toward Summer, we need to renew our focus to end the Masonic year on a strong note. Next month, the first business meeting is June 2nd. Committees need to prepare and submit reports for the record. The secretary can provide examples of past committee reports. All reports must be submitted and approved by the end of the June 16th meeting.
Helion’s Annual Communication when we vote on officers, will be June 16, 2026. Remember to bring a valid dues card and sign-in early. If you desire to serve the lodge as an officer, a committee member, or some other role – please communicate that to one or all the current top three officers. Every member that serves as an officer has assigned duties, some more than others, but each position has its own rewards. Many of the officer positions require physical action, while the higher positions take more time and planning. Having served in most positions, I can say that I learned something from each and every role prepared me for more responsibilities.
Also, if being an officer isn’t for you, consider being on a committee. Well-functioning committees plan and get projects done for the entire lodge. It is also an excellent way to get to know a few brothers a little better. The lodge currently has a total of fifteen committees. The incoming WM will assign committees but if you have a specific interest, or fear, communicate with the Sr. and Jr. Wardens to ensure you land on the desired committee(s).
Lastly, if you have ever wanted “The Lodge” to do something, something more, between now and July is the opportunity to influence, to make a difference, through offering to be involved next year.
